All courses are offered on a fee-for-service basis. Government funding is not available for these courses.
You must have completed CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (or an equivalent unit). You will need to provide one of:
A White Card on its own is not sufficient evidence. Evidence of prerequisite units must be provided and verified prior to commencement.
Prior to enrolment, applicants are required to complete PICAC’s Pre-Enrolment Suitability Check through VETenrol. This considers previous skills and experience and the language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills relevant to the requirements of the selected course.
Where the suitability check identifies that support may be required, PICAC will review the applicant’s individual circumstances and consider available support or reasonable adjustment before determining suitability for the course.
Completing a course does not give you a licence to remove asbestos. Licences are issued by the relevant state or territory WHS/OHS regulator (in Victoria, WorkSafe Victoria). In Victoria, WorkSafe requires asbestos removal organisations to be licensed and to use workers trained by an approved training provider. PICAC is approved by WorkSafe Victoria.
This course gives you the knowledge and practical skills to safely remove friable asbestos-containing material (ACM), in line with Part 4.3 of the WHS/OHS regulations. It suits removal workers and supervisors.
