PICAC Geelong
PICAC Geelong was officially opened on Friday 25 November 2016 by Victorian Premier, the Hon Daniel Andrews.
The Geelong campus features a multipurpose training space that is flexible enough to deliver a range of specialised training. PICAC Geelong was opened to help re-train retrenched or displaced workers who have had to bear the brunt of Geelong’s declining manufacturing industry. For existing qualified trades people including welders, metal fabricators, machinists, fitters and turners, customised industry led training at the facility can provide a real opportunity to re-enter the workforce with promising job prospects.
PICAC Geelong has been designed and fitted out with energy efficiency, and training practicality front of mind. The new campus is a Green Star rated building featuring hydronic heating and cooling coils set into the concrete slab for temperature control of the building, in addition to other water and energy efficient systems.
For existing plumbing industry professionals in the Geelong and greater South Western Victoria Region, PICAC Geelong has been providing specialised training in Backflow Prevention, Thermostatic Mixing Valves and Safety courses among others.
