This unit delivers and assesses participants skills and knowledge required to safely test, commission and maintain backflow prevention devices.
Participants are mostly existing plumbers seeking to gain a backflow prevention endorsement to their plumbing license. The program is suitable to newly qualified plumbers and completing apprentices however they will not meet QBCC licensing requirements.
Duration: 18.5 hours (over 2.5 days) face to face theoretical and practical training.

• CPCPCM2043 Carry out WHS requirements
• CPCPWT3027 Install backflow prevention devices
Entry Requirements:
This course has pre-requisite units which must be satisfied to be awarded this unit. Refer above to Pre-Requisites for further details. It is recommended that learners have acquired language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to Level 3 and Level 4 of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).
On successful completion:
CPCPWT4022 Commission and maintain backflow prevention devices is a nationally recognised unit of competence and learners who successfully complete the program are issued with a Statement of Attainment.
