Training delivered by PICAC RTO 22556
Overview
The Victorian regulator requires practitioners to undertake a refresher course (Annually for Class A and B and Bi-annually for Class B).
This short course will provide participants with an update to their understanding of the nature, health hazards and regulatory requirement for the identification of asbestos containing material.
Prerequisites / entry requirements
In order to commence this unit participants are required to have completed the prerequisite unit:
•CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry or an equivalent unit
•CPCCDE3014 Remove non-friable asbestos and/or
• CPCCDE3015 Remove friable asbestos
Course Structure
This half day program is designed to provide an appropriate level of refresher training for both Class A (friable) and Class B (non-friable) asbestos removal.
Course duration
4 hours.
Course outcomes
The course provides updates and refresher information relating to the removal of ACMs as required by Victorian Worksafe, but see Licensing and registration information below.
Recognition
On successful completion of this course, the participants will receive a Statement of Attendance for the unit. In addition learners will be provided with an updated industry Blue Card.
Licensing and registration information
Victorian Worksafe require the organisation to be licensed and to use trained operatives (who have attend a course at an approved training organisation) – PICAC is approved by Worksafe Victoria.
Delivery arrangements
The course is delivered over 4 hours at the PICAC campus.
Delivery is entirely classroom based/
Subject to timetabling and minimum student numbers, this program can be delivered either during the:
• daytime for candidates required to complete skills development required for in house training by employers or
• daytime or evening for self-employed or unsponsored employees wishing to advance their skills.
Assessment arrangements
You will need to complete written questions relating to Asbestos Knowledge and Removal.

None
Category A: $0
Training participant is a fully financial PPTEU member. May be registered in training course by self or employer.
Category B: $190
Training participant is a Master Plumbers, AMCA or NFIA Association member.
Category C: $250
Training participant is not a member of PPTEU, Master Plumbers, AMCA or NFIA.
