PICAC Apprentices to Represent Australia on the World Stage – UA International Apprentice Contest 2026

Representing Australia on the world stage is an incredible opportunity and this year two outstanding apprentices will do just that at the United Association (UA) International Apprentice Contest in the United States.

Since 2013, PICAC has supported Australian plumbing and fire protection apprentices to compete at the prestigious UA International Apprentice Contest in the USA. Bringing together apprentices from Australia, the United States, Canada and Ireland, the competition tests technical excellence, problem-solving and resilience through practical and theoretical challenges.

Pasquale Angelino – Plumbing Apprentice
A graduate of Master Plumbers at PICAC Brunswick, Pasquale has earned multiple industry awards, including the prestigious Andrew Letten Gold Medal.

Jake Stopinski – Fire Protection Apprentice
Currently completing his apprenticeship through Fire Industry Training (FiT) at PICAC Brunswick, Jake was named 2026 PICAC Victoria Apprentice of the Year and won the 2026 PICAC World Plumbing Day Apprentice Skills Contest for sprinkler fitting.

The UA International Apprentice Contest is an incredible opportunity to showcase Australian talent, develop world-class skills and build lifelong industry connections.

We wish Pasquale and Jake every success as they prepare for the contest.
