Overview
HSR Initial OHS Training Course Under the OHS Act 2004 (section 67) all elected HSRs and deputy HSRs are entitled to undertake WorkSafe Victoria approved OHS training for HSRs and choose their training provider in consultation with their employer. CEPUTEC is approved to deliver the HSR initial OHS training Course.
The aim of this WorkSafe approved training course is to provide HSRs and Deputy HSRs with the knowledge, skills and confidence to enable them to exercise their powers for the purpose of representing members of their designated work group and to help make their workplace safer.
HSR training is not intended to train HSRs to be health and safety professionals or to fulfil an employer’s obligations in relation to OHS. HSR training is not linked to ASQA/RTO and is not nationally recognised training.
Prerequisites
To have been elected by members of their Designated Work Group (DWG)
Course structure
The training course will supply basic information and skills required for HSRs to successfully exercise their powers under the Victorian Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Act 2004 and Victorian OHS Regulations 2007.

35 hours (five days)

Assessment arrangements
No formal assessment. Participant must attend 35 hours face to face training.

Training participant is a fully financial PPTEU member. May be registered in training course by self or employer.
Category B: $665
Training participant is a Master Plumbers, AMCA or NFIA Association member.
Category C: $885
Training participant is not a member of PPTEU, Master Plumbers, AMCA or NFIA.
