Overview
This qualification is suitable for people working in a work health and safety (WHS) role that may or may not work under supervision. They may provide leadership and guidance to others and have some limited responsibility for the output of others.
The qualification reflects the role of workers who apply a broad knowledge base and well developed skills in a wide variety of contexts and may include coordinators, advisors and facilitators.
Prerequisites
Course structure
This qualification contains ten units of competency, each unit has specific learning outcomes and is structured for face to face and task assessment. Training will be multi-faceted incorporating case studies, group work, research, presentations and guest speakers.
Course duration
- One full year (four school terms) – Tuesday evening classes from 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm.
- A total of 136 face to face contact hours.

Assessment arrangements
A range of assessment methods will be used to assess practical skills and knowledge:
- analysis of responses to case studies and scenarios
- assessment of written assignments
- demonstration of techniques used to control WHS
- direct questioning
- evaluation of discussions
- observation of participants in class activities.

Training participant is a fully financial PPTEU member. May be registered in training course by self or employer.
Category B: $825
Training participant is a Master Plumbers, AMCA or NFIA Association member.
Category C: $1500
Training participant is not a member of PPTEU, Master Plumbers, AMCA or NFIA.
